UNIFEMGA Commends JAMB’s Integrity and Swift Response to 2025 UTME ICT Glitches

As-Salam Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu,

The National Body of UNIFEMGA is issuing a statement about its view on the conduct of the Year 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination which recorded some ICT glitches.
The resultant effect across 6 states in the federation affected over 300,000 students negatively in various degrees.

We commend the JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, for not only admitting the errors but also promptly going further to make arrangements for all the affected students to retake the examination. We urge that as many students as are affected be afforded opportunity to retake their papers.
We commend the Management of JAMB on the manner the issue was handled with forthrightness, honesty and integrity.
This is a demonstration of strong sincerity of purpose which is highly commendable.

By the time Professor Oloyede would be leaving JAMB, the standard would have been well entrenched and this sad development would be used as example of how to handle such going forward.

The Holy Qur’an Chapter 4:135, says ;
“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for ALLAH, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, ALLAH is more worthy of both. So, follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then know that ALLAH is ever, Acquainted, with what you do.”

This is coming at a time when many public office holders barely live up to expectations in terms of taking full responsibility when things do not go as they planned.

That many have attested to the character of Professor Oloyede after the JAMB press briefing on the issue is no surprise and UNIFEMGA joins in this affirmation, moreso as Muslims have been charged to always lead by example.

Maa salam
